LOSMAN Expands Automotive Portfolio With Highperformance Thermoplastic Solutions
LOSMAN, a materials supplier, said its high-performance thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and custom-modified granule products have entered automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supply chains, including programs for BMW interior and exterior components. The company cited its experience with engineering plastics such as polyamide (PA), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
OEM supply chain entry
LOSMAN said its TPE and custom-modified granule lines are now used in automotive OEM supply chains. The company said it supplies materials for BMW interior and exterior parts, drawing on its technical work with PA, PBT and PET engineering plastics.
The company linked the supply-chain entry to automaker demand for lightweight and durable components in interior and exterior applications.
Customized modification and performance benchmarking
As automakers impose stricter requirements for lightweighting and durability, LOSMAN said it is using custom-modified granules to address different vehicle-model needs. Its core business covers virgin-grade modified materials including PA, PBT and PET, according to the company.
To align material properties with customer applications, LOSMAN said it has established a performance benchmarking process designed to match material specifications to intended use cases.
| Material category | Core applications | Service model |
|---|---|---|
| TPE / modified granules | Automotive interior and exterior parts | TDS benchmarking and customization |
| PA / PBT / PET | Engineering plastic components | OEM specification matching |
Technical services and quality assurance
LOSMAN said its advantage lies not only in the materials themselves but also in flexible custom engineering. The company analyzes technical data sheets (TDS) provided by customers to carry out physical-property benchmarking, an approach it said is intended to address quality requirements and inform pricing.
The company said the materials have passed stringent automotive component validation processes and can meet OEM performance requirements for complex structural parts.
